Hi friends! I have a funny one for you...
I got my ILR BRP back in mid October. Put it away along with my passport and didn't take it out until last Friday to fly to Germany. Husband and I arrived yesterday to Heathrow (from Frankfurt). I give my passport, BRP and landing card to the border officer. She asks me for my thumb and index print. Then she makes a confused face and asks me if I've applied for a British passport. I have not...
She asks for prints again, funny face and asks if I've applied for naturilisation. I have not....
She had to go to the back office, while husband and I waited (a bit embarrassed) in the "hold area" with everyone staring at us. She came back. Said everything checked out but that my BRP (in her words) "is not pulling up my prints". Apparently, I will have this problem every time I try to re enter the country. I had a bit of a rant about how I waited five years to finally have settlement and after all the money paid they can't sort out their crap and that the situation is unacceptable. She was super apologetic and said that only thing I can do is contact the Home Office. I've filled out some sort of work flow and detailed the issue through the gov UK website.
Anyway... Has anyone had this issue before?!
