Visiting Edinburgh for work
« on: January 22, 2019, 06:43:06 AM »
Hello :) the week of February 11th and again on the week if the 25th  I get to travel to Edinburgh for work to train up some staff.  I thought I’d be traveling in pairs but I think I will be going solo now... which given my anxiety and fear if traveling alone should be fun lol!

Anyways, just wondering if anybody had any suggestions on things to do in evenings? The new office ( it just moved from what I hear was beautiful Melville Street) is in Ocean point. So I imagine the hotel will be around there too.

Thanks!

Walking, hop on the buses (there's a great app which is so helpful to get around) and go walk around the Royal Mile and Princes Street area and all the gorgeous gardens,  shopping, pubs?

Here's the app:

Ah, yes. Even in Edinburgh the sidewalks do tend to roll up early. Even the museums close at 5pm. There should be one night a week when some of the shops stay open later, perhaps?  The trinket shops on the Royal Mile are apparently open until 8pm, according to this link. But there's only so much tourist shopping one can do.  https://www.introducingedinburgh.com/opening-hours

Looks like it might be having a nice dinner, then spending time in your hotel room.  ::)

Edit:  Umm, I forgot about theatre. You could take in a performance?  https://www.atgtickets.com/venues/edinburgh-playhouse/
