Pleased to see this on prime without a stupidly high markup (still a markup but not as bad as I would've expected! Also had Hidden Valley original ranch packets but they didn't appear to be available on Prime (so was another £3 delivery).

I've ordered stuff from South African foods before. It came really fast and was priced pretty good.

I like to add that onion soup mix to sour Cream and then dip potato chips in it.

Is that your plan?

hahah i thought that was the ONLY real use for that until realising I needed it for Turkey burgers! :p In New England, I'm not sure of anybody who uses it to make actual soup!  I was surprised that it was available through "South African Foods" as didn't consider it particularly south african but good to know that it's quick delivery!

Nah my plan is to use it for turkey burgers (and ocasssionaalllyyy onion dip but I'm the only one around here that enjoys onion dip unfortunately. I brought loads back from the US with me but was looking to show a colleague who I've convinced to order it :)

Have gotten Mrs. Dash seasoning from So African Foods - last year, I think. It arrived very quickly, was happy with the company....

Oh, man, French Onion Soup mix and sour cream makes the BEST dip.  ;D

Now you just need to find thick sour cream...

crème fraiche works.  I make ranch dip all the time, using crème fraiche & a packet of HV ranch mix.

Yeah, we go through a lot of creme fraiche here.  It's not quite as tangy as US style sour cream, but it's the closest thing I've tried.

I've definitely used the "soured cream" here for onion dip before and didn't have a problem. It seemed like US style to be honest. It was either from Tesco or Sainsbury's.

The Old El Paso one is a squeeze bottle called "sour cream" is really thin and not like US sour cream so definitely don't use that one if that's the one you've tried.

*shudder*  No.  I haven't had the courage to even try that stuff!  I don't know what it is, but I don't trust a product that's meant to be sour cream but is shelf stable.  Same with their "guacamole".  I just buy avocados and make my own.  It only takes a few minutes, and it's amazing.

I am so with you on not trusting a product like that which is shelf stable...NOPE.

I don't want to think about it....even with normal things I do enjoy eating that have ridiculous shelf lives, I don't want to think about it as it just makes me cringe..
