NYC to Chi to London intro
« on: March 06, 2019, 08:40:31 PM »
Hello community!

I stumbled upon this forum via a recommendation on reddit and have been observing the forum as a guest for almost 6 months now. During this time I gained a ton of valuable information that helped ease the anxiety of deciding whether or not to move and, more immediately, provided serious clarity around the visa application process. Got a response from the Home Office today, and when my first reaction was to not panic and instead visit the forum because all the advice I'll need will probably be right here, I realized it's time to stop creeping and join the party.

I work in eLearning in NYC and met my husband through work. He is based in our London office and after a stretch of dating long distance we decided to get married. Originally, he was planning on moving to the US but since that takes quite a while to go through, and due to some health reasons I'm now planning on moving to London so we can finally start adulting together in real life. This month, I'm in a bit of a transition phase having given up my apartment in NYC to move back in with the folks in Chicago while I wait on next steps.

Hi baeryani, welcome!  :)

Have you submitted your visa application already or are you still in the planning stages?

Thank you for the welcome! I submitted it in December but now dealing with a bit of a confusing refusal and wondering what approach to take. Posted about it in the visa forum...still doing some research to mull over next steps.
