Bloodwork?
« on: April 18, 2019, 05:21:44 PM »
Every time I look something up, I find something new to panic about. Does Winston need bloodwork done 2 months before USDA forms are filled out?
I need a Pet Passport for really stupid people

No. Winston needs to be microchipped and to have had at least one rabies vaccine after the microchip was implanted. From the day of the vaccine, there's a 21-day waiting period (used to be an actual quarantine in a kennel but long since now just a waiting period) and then the vet can sign the EU health certificate. Then ALL of it can be APHIS endorsed.

The trouble you can run into here is if the EU health certificate is done too soon and expires (they are good for four months) or the rabies vaccine expires before you get it all done. Either of those things sets you back to the beginning.

But there's no bloodwork.

Technically they don't require the bloodwork (Yet). Our transport agency asked us to have it done because they were not sure if brexit happened on time if it would change any of the rules. It was costly but we decided to err on the side of caution. But we did have to do another set of rabies shots. We didn't know that the UK doesn't recognize 3 year vaccines. :(
Even when life seems at it's most dark and despairing.. there is within the power to make change.
