Considering my oldest friend is 102.... and she doesn't even come off as old....  I'm not the best person to ask.

She's 102 people!  And she messages me on Facebook.   ;D

She's a total badass!
My, how time flies....

Surely, at a MINIMUM, you wouldn't be considered "old" until you qualify for retirement (I mean, even then, I am not convinced, but surely you aren't "olllllllddd" if you still are required to work because you're too "young" to collect your pension. NOT counting early retirement in here as that's - obviously - early).

29 and can confirm that 45 is definitely NOT old to somebody in their 20's! hahah My sister is 41 and my other sister is just turning 40 this year and I'm incredibly close to my older sister so maybe I'm biased I guess....but really...no. I don't even think 50 is old! hahah My parent's are mid 60's and I still find it hard considering them "old" (Just "older"). I would definitely agree my thought process of "old" is more like... 70+.

It's all relative!  ;)

Average life expectancy in the USA is 79 (average). That would be 81+ years for women,  76+ years for men.

Other trombone player in my band is 85 and he loves his iphone.

He's not 102 yet, but my grandfather is 93(ish?), and he's a Facebook user too  ;D  He's always been into technology, loves his macbook and ipad.  I'm sure he will also be using whatever is hip in 9 years time too..

Stories like this are what makes me laugh at colleagues who say they can't do something because they aren't good at technology. I'm like...you've not even tried! If a 100+ year old can do it, you can learn it too!
