ILR - 5-Day Priority Now Gone
« on: July 04, 2019, 10:26:22 PM »
Thought I'd let people know that the 5-day service has now gone.

Only options are standard and super priority.

Choose a service

Select a service from the options below. You will not be able to change this after you have submitted your application. (Required)

Standard service : pay 2408.20 GBP, most people get a decision within 6 months after attending their biometrics appointment

Super priority service : pay 3208.20 GBP, most people get a decision on the next working day after attending their biometrics appointment

The amount you pay for each service option includes the 19.20 GBP biometrics enrolment fee for each applicable person on this application.

UK Visas and Immigration will contact you if it will take longer to process your application.

In fairness, I dont remember even seeing this option when I applied. I remember seeing the option for 24 hour super priority or the normal processing - but I very well may have missed the 5 day when I looked.

Let's hope they're a day late haha.

I knew the price of ILR, but seeing it on screen with them asking you to pay it with your credit card in hand is gut wrenching

Lol guess you'll find out soon enough

Totally agree that it's one thing to know the cost and plan for it and another completely to see it on the screen with your card in hand

I honestly don't remember for sure but I dont think so. I think I just scanned them as was. If they were colour, I left them coloured. Did the guidance for scanning suggest they be black and white? I dont remember seeing that.

It recommends it but if it falls under the 6MB limit I am doing them in colour as it feels strange otherwise and all the effort of getting genuine and original docs to then scan them in rubbish black & white quality feels strange.

"To make your visit to our Service centre as smooth as possible, it is recommended you upload your documents via the self-upload facility. You can upload documents in stages right up until you attend your appointment, making it easy and convenient. When uploading your documents, there are some easy to follow guidelines set out below to ensure you are successful.

1.Document type: On completing your on line application you will be advised of the mandatory supporting evidence UKVI will need to access your application. You must upload all the mandatory supporting evidence, we will not be able to submit your application if mandatory information is missing. Further supporting documents guidance is on gov.uk for the documents required for your application route.

2.Category: Your supporting evidence needs to be submitted under the categories advised, our upload facility allows for this and having the right documents in the right category will make your evidence easier to find and review, so we suggest that you organise and upload your supporting documents in the correct categories.

3.File Format: Please upload documents in PDF (preferred), JPG and PNG format.

4.File Name: needs to be as simple as possible e.g. bank-statement-Apr-2018.pdf Do not upload files with file names having special characters, #,ë, or bank.statement.apr.2018.pdf

5.File Size: each uploaded document has a file size limit of 6MB, uploading larger files will result in your documents being rejected, so please ensure the file is as small as possible and not more than 6 MB. If you document is likely to be over 6MB please split into parts and create separate files. There is no limit on the number of documents/files you can upload.

6.Scan in Greyscale or Black and white: To help contain the files size to 6MB please scan in ‘Greyscale’ or ‘Black and white’ and not in ‘Colour’. It is also helpful to keep the resolution between 150 dpi (dots per inch) to 300 dpi. This can be achieved by configuring your device by the available ‘Settings’ option, that allows you to choose the file format, colour and the dpi resolution. With this approach, you will be able to scan up to 50 pages per document within the allowed 6 MB limit.

7.Password: Please do not upload password protected files as the caseworker will not be able to open them for assessment and therefore your application may be delayed."

To be honest, I had never heard of a 5-day Priority Service until you mentioned it in your thread, Ben. As far as I was aware, the only available service for ILR was the £800 Super Priority.

I’m just trying to search for information on a 5-working day service and I can’t seem to find anything about it.

All it seems to say on the UKVI website is that the £500 5-working day service is only available for certain application types and if your visa type is eligible for it, it will be offered as an option when you go to book the appointment... but I can’t find anything that says which application types are eligible.

Ah, that might be where the confusion lies. I read that and assumed it applied to us.

FWIW, I scanned the passports in colour, because the stamps were hard to see otherwise. I was able to keep the PDFs under the filesize limit, so, although I felt naughty, I left them in colour.
All my other documents were B&W.

when it comes to the size allowance, we had used another programme after we did all the scanning to get the docs to be the correct MB allowance and we used it to make sure pages of the same document were grouped together as we had some that either were out of order when uploading (I.E. page order: 1,3,2,4) or we had to do each page individually and then group them together using this app so they'd be ONE file vs many so I don't think it really matters if you choose to do black and white or colour as long as it is formatted to the correct MB allowance.

When you say 'one file' do you mean like all bank statement pages for December (for example) were one document or all pages of every bank statement were one document?

I plan on doing one month's statement as one document
