laptops: IBM THiNKPAD T20..Will i need a Converter ?
« on: December 29, 2004, 05:54:56 PM »
Happy holidays to everyone.

Hey guys...thanks for all the good tips on previous related questions i had posted about bringing computer from US to UK.
I ended up getting a used IBM Thinkpad T20 laptop from the US.
It was purchased on US ebay but i was not able to figure out if i will need a voltage converter as laptops do not have the switch in the back like desktops do.
I have read other posts on this site that suggest that laptops are built to be used for both UK and US . I have emailed the company that sold me the laptop and they say all i need is a plug adapter in the UK...not a voltage converter...but need to be certain before i switch it on .
I tried IBM customer service but there tech support left me hanging for ever..
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
thanks
