FLM- Joint tenancy vs American spouse only?
« on: November 24, 2019, 10:23:07 PM »
So my FLM is up in about 10 months time, and I'm renewing the lease on our apartment soon. When we first moved in, only I (American spouse) could meet the financial requirements for the apartment. Now my husband has steady full time work and could he added onto our new lease, but this costs extra. I was wondering if it would make my application for FLM stronger if the lease included both of our names, or if it would really make no difference, as long as one of the spouses is on it?

Doesn’t make a difference.

If only one of you is on the lease, you just need to also include a letter from the landlord stating the tenancy particulars and confirming that the second person has been living there too and has permission to continue living there.
