Something beyond weird....HELP

So, outside the office where I work is a bush. Every year a sweet little robin comes and he sings his heart out under his breath.....beak never open you can just see his throat moving. I recorded him for my wife to hear. All seemed fine, until I listened to the recording! Can ANYONE explain the creepy sound? I thought maybe, but I’m there every day.... ever heard anything like it......and the  extended echo effect. You’d think there was someone behind me in black with a hockey mask and an axe......
