Today was my six year old's first time going to karate.  I didn't know much about karate, but I have several friends who have sent their sons to karate and spoke highly of it, saying that it builds confidence, respect, fitness and coordination.

I have to say, I was very impressed.  The class was for beginners, ages 5-7.  The two instructors were excellent with the kids.  I was amazed at how well they communicated with the kids, and in turn, the kids respected them.

My son enjoyed it today.  I'll insist that he finishes the eight week program that we signed up to, in order to give it a fair shot.  It'll be interesting to see if he wants to take it further.

Does anybody here have kids who have committed to karate?
