Settlement package...Work Permit...Child(-ren)
« on: January 04, 2005, 12:55:18 PM »
I'm a single mother attempting to move to the UK with her unmarried partner.  He is a UK citizen, but currently lives in the US (sunny Florida).  I'm filling out my settlement paperwork, but we are both inquiring about the work permit for me.  Is the work permit included in the settlement paperwork, or do I have to have a prospective employer grant me permission for one?  I hope I'm being clear on this, as this will be my first time living abroad.  Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks a lot.

A settlement visa as an unmarried partner entitles you to work in the UK...no need for another permit-- good luck!
