Confirmation number- help!
« on: March 15, 2020, 12:16:35 PM »
I have just paid for priority service for ILR. I now need to put in the access number that came with the email from Sopra-Steria.....email came, no code with it. It's been 5 minutes.....what are my options?

Crap.....too late now. You needed to put the code in within 30 minutes and I guess it's too late now. I guess I need to find a way for the Sopra-Steria site to send me an email WITH the access code?

Well, didn't get anywhere today with getting a code to allow me to continue with the application. Sent the Sopra-Steria site an email that hopefully will get answered tomorrow. Calling tomorrow would cost £2.50? a minute.....so no thanks.

Since I can't book an appointment without this code.....I was looking at the possible sites to go to. There was an "enhanced" site in Leeds but didn't have as many choices for what they are able to do there but is very much the easier site to get to. The bigger sites seemed to be Manchester or Birmingham. Would I be able to use Leeds for the ILR priority?

Any of the locations can be used when you are doing the 24 hour priority option. The people at Sopra Steria have nothing to do with your decision, they just take your biometrics and scan your documents (or check them) if you paid for it.

The 5 core sites (one of which is in Birmingham) have free appointments, the other locations require an extra cost. That's the only difference.

Sorry I can't help with the code thing, I did my ILR back in October and we didn't pay for a 24 hour decision, the £800 wasn't in our budget. It only took 45 days from my biometrics appointment, which really isn't that bad.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Thanks for the answer. I had the money, so kind of "what the heck" with the £800 extra for a quick answer (and makes my wife A LOT less nervous). I just sent off another info request to Sopra Steria. Their stock auto-reply is 5-10 days to hopefully hear from them. I can't do anything until they give me something to get me into the site. My wife is at this minute trying to put her mother into a care home, and trying to beat the virus lock down.....so she is really not needing this extra hassle on top of that. At this time it's £3208 sent into the ether without anything to show for it. I'd give them a call.....but £2.50 a MINUTE is more than just a little bit like being robbed. Govt type sites REALLY don't want you to contact them.

Hope you are right about the being able to use Leeds for the priority service.....that would make things soooooo much easier.

We had bought our house and has just moved in when I needed to apply, so life was Uber hectic at the time. I don't mind waiting and my family would be understanding.

So sorry to hear everything is complicated, I can't imagine the stress with that.

I hope you can get ahold of them. Sopra Steria isn't UKVI or HO, they're just a private company that has been contracted to handle biometrics. Did the email you need come from UKVI or Sopra Steria?

Auto-response was from UKVCAS, which is Sopra Steria. As soon as you pay the bazillion Pounds for the application to go, I got something that said an email would be sent with the magic code number that would allow me to log on to the Sopra Steria site to do whatever it is you are supposed to (like booking the appointment). Email yes.....code number no.

So sorry about your wife's mother F4mandolin.
This is going to sound bad......but my wife doesn't like her parents, never has. But with their falling apart fast (mother was again wandering looking for "daddy" today) she has had to spend a lot of the last year doing tons and tons of things to help them out. Her father is semi-functional but can't take care of his wife...he's going to be in bad shape within a year. My wife is kind of hoping the Coronavirus comes calling. The dementia type illnesses are a b*tch and (like a lot of people who are dealing with it) it's really sad to see what happens to people. I'll take cancer any day......

Huh, looked at my emails and the code I think you are talking about was to create your account and book.

Is this the email?

You should be able to ask for a new code to be sent, I remember there being an option for your code not arriving?

Yep.....there was a link for doing something again......did it twice over a day......no other emails arrived. Your email does NOT look like mine.....so, as one of my wife's sons says......"Bloody ell !!!" Hopefully within a day or two "they" will read their emails and respond.
For old people (I'm 62)....when I type something like "they" did blahblahblah.....I keep flashing back to the movie "She" (who must be obeyed)(no, it's not dirty). You don't see that movie anymore.....it's crap.....but it's got Ursula Andress....so.......
