Application for UK Citizenship - recently self employed
« on: July 09, 2020, 09:29:46 AM »
Hello All

I was made redundant from my employer in the end of April.  I received some money as part of my redundancy in the end of May and I want to use that to finally apply for UK citizenship (I am a US citizen in the UK since 2003).

My question is around employment as I have just started a new job on a six-month temporary contract (yay) but due to the nature of the contract I'm having to register as self -employed (sole trader).  How do I deal with this on my application?  Part of me is tempted to wait to apply until (hopefully) this turns into a permanent role, but I want to get this done now whilst I have money in the bank.  Will this cause me issues in making my application?

Thank you
