Biometrics in California Today and COVID Precautions
« on: July 21, 2020, 01:26:00 AM »
Just in case this helps anyone:

My appointment today took 30-35 minutes.

I was asked to read a poster ensuring I have not been in contact with anyone showing symptoms and that I myself did not have symptoms. I think they will turn you away if you say yes. None applied to me, so I replied no.

I was asked to use hand sanitizer several times throughout the process.

Each station where fingerprints and photos are done were sanitized after each client left.

X's were marked on the floor to keep people in line at a distance from one another and seating areas were spread far apart as well.

I am unsure if all US states are taking these measures, but did want to let people know my experience in case it helps someone.

This is fairly comforting for me to see you managed to get an appointment so soon after they reopened considering your application date. I have been impatiently waiting for my visa center to reopen (6 days!) so we can even schedule an appointment. Ive been worried the appointment would be weeks away due to backlogs after them being closed for so long.

I think we got lucky perhaps, as I noticed several days ago the next available appointments at the ASC I went to were in August. My fiance was refreshing the page for an hour or so until appointment slots opened up. Slots came up for us on the 13th of July for appointments on July 20 and they came up at noon. Not sure if that helps any. I hope you can get one ASAP.
