First, the DISCLAIMER---I am a dual US/UK citizen and will be entering the UK with my British passport. I know that a US citizen is not permitted to seek employment with just a visitor stamp in their passport and do not recommend that anyone do so.
Whew! Ok, with that out of the way....
I am having a difficult time finding a job in Scotland from the US. Although I have worked in the same field for 15 years now, I don't really have any specialized skills that would make an employer in Scotland choose me over someone who lives just down the street and wouldn't need to move across the ocean to accept a job offer! With that in mind, I am considering a 'job hunting trip' for 10 days-2 weeks this spring. Does anyone think this would be at all useful? Or would I be better off saving the airfare and just printing up 9 million copies of my CV to send out instead? (I've got a place to stay, so my only real expense would be the airfare.) Any thoughts?
