Mortgage for FLR(M)
« on: March 17, 2021, 02:08:22 PM »
My husband and I are looking to purchase a home. I have been in the U.K. on an FLR(M) visa for over 3 years (just renewed).

I am fully employed in the U.K. for 2.5 years.

We were told that most banks won’t give us a mortgage because I am not a citizen. The only one we were able to find was Halifax but they give a pretty crap rate. Anyone have similar experiences?

Thanks!

The usual recommendation is to try a mortgage broker.

Good luck!

I am in a similar situation, but have only been here 2 years. I have a high salary and another 5 years on my visa, no debt, never paid anything late in my life, but my credit score in the UK is ‘fair’ and therefore too high-risk for a mortgage.

Good luck. Please keep us updated with your progess.
