I read this book last year and loved, loved, LOVED it!  (Peedal, I could've loaned it to you!  I've even got it in nice hardback.)

I won't spoil the ending but make sure you have some tissues nearby!

I just bought this book on sat as one of my NY resolutions...I'm hearing good things so I can't wait to start on it ;D

Any other recommended stories to add to my list?

Ok, for those of you who have already finished the book: my copy just skipped from page 379 back to 330 . . . . is this a printing error and should I skip it or is it intrinsic to the book?? I'm flummoxed!

Thanks, MarsBar . . . I thought it was strange - glad I skipped over it now! £14?! Is it a hardback?

Mine IS a US Copy btw. Might make a difference there! :)

It was 14 dollars... but by all accounts that is STILL really expensive for a book. Its only paperback.

But for a gal who loves paper, I have to say the quality of the pages and the weight, and the way the pages fall to each side is very very nice.

I paid £4.99 for mine at Sainsbury's on a whim.

Im turning it over in my hands looking for something SPECIAL about it like "limited edition" or ANYTHING really... and yet theres nothing. *grumble*

Oh well, even if it had been 25 dollars Martin probably still would have gotten it. I think he's damned determined to show me he can read a love story lol

Tell Martin, that if it's not a Barbara Cartland book, it won't count  ;D

$14.00 sounds odd,, maybe it was a price glitch? Mine's paperback too,, and I think I am pretty sure I paid something like 4 pounds as well.

I just finished it today an I'm dying. What a beautiful story. I can't believe it is the author's first novel! I'll be on the lookout for more of her work in the future.

Mart peeled back the sticker on the book and the actual printed price on the book IS $14.00... Maybe its just a special edition or something (2003 Harcourt books)

Amy Niffeneger is doing a talk & book signing at Waterstones in Piccadilly next Thursday, 7pm. It costs £3 to attend.

It will make an interesting movie, if someone gets around to making it. :)

Reviving this incredibly ancient thread because the UK release of the movie is in 2 weeks. Of course it's so long since I read the book I've forgotten half of it, but maybe that will actually help my enjoyment because I don't know how faithful they could be to the book. I'm dying to see how they've managed all the skipping about in time.
