When does the embassy release new appointments?
« on: August 16, 2021, 10:35:37 AM »
Has anyone figured out the date and times? I've been trying W/Th/Fri, at 9:30 and 2pm and no luck at all.

The only time I saw an appointment open was a short notice cancellation for next day at 8am - which I tried to book, but it was gone within minutes!

My kids still have valid british passports - do you think I could use those for my travel in a few months time if I'm unable to renew their US passports?

Usually Thursdays around 12/2. Sometimes Wednesday.

They can enter the US on their expired passports (if expired after Jan 1, 2020.). Then use U.K. passports to fly back to U.K.

I thought they could only use expired passports if they are intending to live in the US, not just to visit like we're doing?

If you had a UK visa it wouldn’t work, as it’s like a 5 month wait for renewals in the USA.  But if everyone has UK passports it’s a nonissue.

Ideally, renew in advance of travel. But know the US passports that are expired is a solid plan b.  What is NOT a good idea is having them try to enter the US on UK passports.
