Hello everybody!
So I just recently found out about citizenship by descent. I was born outside the UK (1989) to unmarried parents, illegitimate child of a British father. I am an adult now and I assume this is not a straightforward case.
I am trying to apply online and gather the necessary documents. The website states these requirements below (I have ommited parts that were not relevant e.g. adoption papers as I'm not adopted):
**Evidence to show proof of who the applicant's biological father is. Provide one of the following:
-the applicant's birth certificate
-any other evidence that proves they are related as claimed
**We need evidence to show that (had the applicant's father been married to their mother) applicant would have become a British citizen. Provide the relevant documents from the list below:
-Applicant's passport
-Applicant's full birth certificate; and either:
-The father's full birth certificate
-The applicant's father's expired British citizen, citizen of the UK and Colonies or British subject passport.
-evidence that he was settled in the UK at the time of applicant's birth, if they were born in the UK on or after 1 January 1983.
-------------------
Can anyone please help me figure out the necessary support documents i need to prove my claim?
What I have so far:
-applicant birth certificate
-applicant non-british passport (Philippines)
-valid I'd
-father British birth certificate
-father British passport
-photos of applicant and father together (holiday, wedding day of applicant)
-screenshot of correspondence (messenger Convo, fb posts)
What else could I possibly add to strengthen my claim? Hope someone can help. Thank you in advance!
??father sworn statement acknowledging me as daughter
??is his British passport enough to support he was domiciled in the UK at the time of my birth? (1989)
