Child's 1st Passport
« on: August 30, 2021, 06:48:13 PM »
    Hello everybody,

Long time no speak. So my wife and I recently welcomed our first child into this strange world!

We've just applied for the baby's first passport (UK) and in the application it said that we needed to send 1 of the following documents from the parents:

    • Full birth or adoption certificate
      Naturalisation or registration certificate
Non English passport showing Indefinite Leave to Remain

Am I right in thinking that if it's going to be the birth certificate it would be mine as I'm a UK citizen and my wife is a US passport holder who's here on FLR (M)?

Married 18th December 2016
Wife applied for UK Spouse Visa 21 May 2017
Email confirmation from UKVI confirming receipt 30 May 2017
Spouse Visa granted 2nd July 2017
Wife arrived in UK 20th July 2017
Applied for FLR (M) 24th March 2020
FLR (M) extension granted 20th July 2020

Yes, you need to send your birth certificate showing that baby is British through you.  Congratulations!
