1. Do all documents need to be dated before the application date?
ie. If I forgot a document and added it in between the application and the biometrics is that an issue?
Yes, all the documents need to be dated before the online application date as that is your official application date and you must show your documents met all the requirements on that date.
So, you should wait until you have all your documents in your hand before you submit the online application.
2. Generally how soon is a biometrics appointment after paying for an application online?
It’s really up to you when you as you choose your own appointment date... and how soon you can get one depends on various factors, such as:
- what type of appointment you want
- which location/type of centre you are booking at
- how busy they are when you’re trying to book
Etc.
Generally, I think most people seem to have been able to get an appointment within about 2-4 weeks of applying online.
However, it is likely you will need to pay for an appointment because even though they are supposed to have free appointments available, they are pretty much impossible to get... I don’t think anyone here has actually managed to book a free appointment since before Covid.
