Minor panic over payslip dates
« on: October 10, 2021, 08:57:46 PM »
I am in a bit of a state - I had my biometric appt on Saturday and thought everything went smoothly. I had triple checked that my payslips covered 6 months but I was using the dates 26/3-26/9. That’s my usual payday.

I didn’t even think about it until just now but I got paid on the 24th in September due to 26th being a Sunday. So that means my payslips only cover 5 months 30 days!

Part of me is thinking that since most months have 30 days, it will be ok - or is this wishful thinking? I am beside myself over this. Am I totally screwed??

If your payslip date for September is the 24th, then the 6 month period you must cover is March 24th to September 24th… which means you are currently 2 days short of meeting the requirement, and unfortunately the visa can be refused if you are even 1 day short.

So, to make absolutely sure you meet the requirements, I would include your February payslip and bank statement as well, to cover March 24th and 25th.

I started the job on March 1st so do not have a Feb payslip

Omg I can’t believe this! I’ve been paid on the 26th every month except September! One pay date beyond my control could get me a refusal and I am absolutely gutted.

What are the exact dates that your payslips show on them?

Does the March payslip show only the pay date of March 26th, or does it state the full period of pay on it, I.e. from March 1st to 31st?

Same with the September payslip… does it only state September 24th on it, or does it state that it covers September 1st to 30th?

They just have the pay date but they indicate the month in the fiscal year under “tax period” so March has a 12 because it’s the last month in their fiscal year April a 1, May a 2 and so on

So perhaps there’s hope. In any event there’s nothing I can do about it now - everything has been submitted

I am just super gutted - thought I was so organised and double checked and triple checked and missed such an important thing!

Guess I just have to wait and hope whomever is processing it realises I do get paid through the end of the month

Ah, yes, sorry, I was thinking you still had time to submit documents, forgetting that it was all done before/by biometrics.

Fingers crossed it’s all okay, and that they accept the payslips as full months.

No worries - I’m just going to try and put it out of my mind now (as if! Lol)

Thanks for hearing me out

If you have someone who is REALLY looking at things with a fine tooth comb and it’s the only thing, they will likely request the previous payslip.

I really wouldn’t loose sleep.  If you hadn’t submitted, yeah, we’d say to throw the extra payslip in.  But there is every chance the person will say “ I have six payslips that meet the requirement”.  Keep us posted!

We just like to be cautious,   :D

Really appreciate your encouraging words!

I’m surprisingly not freaking out about this (now-lol)
Bottom line is I’ve been at my job 7 months and supplied all 7 of my payslips. I think they’ll get that the number in the pay period field represents that my cheque covers an entire calendar month.

I’m just going to have to accept there’s nothing more to do at this point and see what happens.

Will definitely keep you updated!  Whatever the outcome it will help future applicants as either a cautionary or reassuring tale

Our FLR(m) had 6 payslips and only covered 5 months and was approved. It wasn’t until Ksand24 alerted me to it in my ILR thread I realised the mistake I was about to make again. But yeah, I got away with it last time. I also uploaded my initial job contract for FLR(m) by mistake which states it was for only for three months and they never pulled me up on it :)

Perhaps I had enough other docs to tick the boxes, but this time I hope I don’t make mistakes. Just posting to say back in 2019 I got away with it.

They do ask for missing docs on occasion as well. I missed ALL my bank statements on my FLR and they asked me for them.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.
