Biometric residence permit pick-up date

My spouse visa was approved! Thanks so much to everyone for your help with that process.

I have a question about picking up the biometric residence permit. Does anyone know how early I can pick it up? It says to pick it up within 10 days of arriving in the UK, can I pick it up the same day I arrive in the UK? Like 3 hours after I land? I presume that means the BRP is already printed and just waiting for me to pick it up at the post office?

In theory, you can pick it up as soon as you arrive in the UK, but it does depend on the BRP having being delivered to the Post Office on time.

So, the BRP should be there waiting for you when you go, but if it’s not, you may need to go back another day to get it.

Okay thanks, good to know. In the letter from the UKVI saying my visa was accepted, they said I could enter the country any time after Nov 9 2021, and I'll be entering on Nov 22, so hopefully it will be already received at the post office.

Yeah, it should be there by then but can occasionally be a bit hit or miss.

I know BRPs have been having “printing issues” recently but hopefully sorted before you arrive.
