Wrong date in FLR M approval email
« on: February 02, 2022, 08:32:12 PM »
I applied for further leave to remain for myself and my son (aged 12) on Jan 1 and had my biometrics last Friday. I just received two emails from the "Home Office Atlas" that said my application was successful (3 working days? WOW!). Strange thing is, the email to me said my leave was granted until Aug 2, 2022 (4 months after our current visas expires) but my son's email said his leave was granted until Aug 2, 2024 (2 years and 4 months after our current visas expire). His application was tied to mine so I'm assuming they made a typo in the email, although it seems this would be an automatically generated email so I'm worried the date could be wrong on my BRP when I get it.

I can't find anywhere/anyone to contact to ask about this as all the contact info I find on gov.uk is about applying for a visa and not checking on the status of an existing application. Does anyone know how to reach someone to ask about this, or should I just wait until I get my BRP and if the date wrong should I follow the instructions the email provided for correcting incorrect details?

Congratulations on the approval :).

Someone else had this same issue in December - their approval email stated that their visa was only valid for 2 weeks instead of 30 months. We thought it was a typo, but when their BRP arrived, it was also only valid for 2 weeks. So, it seems like there have been a few mistakes made by UKVI when issuing visas recently.

So, you'll need to wait for your BRP to arrive, and if the same thing has happened and it is only valid until August 2nd 2022, then you will need to report the issue on the UKVI website within 10 days of receiving the BRP, and they should correct it within 20 working days.

The process for reporting a problem with a BRP card is here:
https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/report-problem

The person who had the same problem in December just received an email yesterday stating their BRP was being reissued with the correct dates. See this thread: https://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=99514.msg1316382#msg1316382
