My decision made email came today along with a second email telling me the documents are shipping. I prepaid the UPS international shipping label but can't see any tracking info yet. This email came only 36 days from the date of the application's arrival in Sheffield. And here I was hunkering down for the long wait!

Fantastic!  ;0)

I think that contacting the MP was what moved the logjam because the decision was made just a week after the MP's office got back in touch and said they'd be looking into it.

I've been lurking for a while but wanted to say hi and throw my hat into the non-priority spousal visa ring. I'm the UK citizen, so the application is for my husband and two kids.

Welcome!  :) You are British by descent so kids are not British?

Correct.  I wish we'd made this move prior to 2012.  Looks like it would have been a lot easier!  I'm living in fear that I've forgotten a payslip, or folded one of the documents twice instead of once, or stapled something instead of using a paperclip...

VISA APPROVED! Alhamdulillah! 64 business days, 2 days short of 3 months since Biometrics. I'm so over the moon, it feels like I have a new lease on life! To everyone waiting, your time will be coming soon. Whatever you do, don't contact HO at all. Save the money. Thank you to everyone for the support and keeping me sane. Can't wait for the reunion.

PS. Someone needs to update this spreadsheet.

Hadnt even received an email confirmation that they got my application (sent nov 27), but I got the email today saying a decision has been made. I know some people here have had faster processing times recently. But this seems WAY too fast. Now I’m just worried I did something so glaringly wrong that they just immediately said No and returned my documents

Not everyone gets the first email, so nothing to worry about there - some just get missed.

Your fast decision is a good sign... fast decisions are normally approvals, while refusals usually take a bit longer while they scrutinise the application more fully.
