Hey, I was just in Morrisons and they now have the big bottles of Cholula for £1.99!!!! Also some new Discovery products, including a Tequila & Lime Salsa.

I hardly ever go into Morrisons, but i was there last week, and amongst the Discovery products, they had a small jar of chipotle paste, which is really hot and fantastic!

Are they the same thing as banana peppers?

I bought some of the banana chilies today and had some on nachos at lunctime I think they are pepperoncini but don't quote me on that because they are cut into thin slices so it's hard to say. They taste sweet but that could be because they  are pickled in balsamic vinegar and sugar.

Oh and also got the tequila and lime salsa. Very nice!!

I'm guessing they're the manzano chilies I got, which are pretty hot.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

hey

im from washington state, and we had tons of mexican restaurants, its my fav food. well me and my wife went to a restaurant in sidcup, kent, called el banditos, on the outside, it looked like a real good place, but its ran my turkish men, and the food was horrible, i just wanted a plain beef taco with rice, it wasnt on the menu so i asked for it, they brought out some meat, not really meat, just mushed beans (after i said NO beans) and chips instead of rice, it was horrible. i wanted to cry, lol, my wife has the dryest rice, with a hint of red in it.. does anyone know of any good ones in the bexleyheath, sidcup, welling area?

thanks

I just don't think they exist in this country, TBH. I went to Chiquitos despite warnings, and was so bummed. How can you get a margarita so wrong :-X

The one my husband always raves about (and I have yet to go to) is Mestizo in London. He says it's totally authentic and cooked by Mexican chefs.

I took a business colleague from Dubai to Mestizo last night.  The margaritas are fabulous and dinner was great.  They are having a Food festival in September.  I took some brochures because I thought if there was interest we could have a UK-Y meet-up party on September 13.

We did a UKY meetup at Wahaca last September (yummy!) and my British husband is in love with Mucho Mas. :D  Of course, his discerning palate really only stretches to burritos from Moe's. ;)

Ohhhh....sweet Wahaca. Lets have another one soon. I still have the matchbooks from there that actually contain jalepeno seeds.
This thread is causing me to drool over my laptop. Not good.
