We noticed it too, but it's not always consistent. Once in a while they'll bleep out something innocuous like 'ass,' but then something much worse will get through. My DH's head snaps around so fast when that happens! He's like a censor watchdog!

Could be the time.  Sometimes those shows are on before the watershed and sometimes they're not.

Except that once it was on in the afternoon and that happened! (Trust me: DH keeps track of such things.)  :-\\\\

Comedy Central (Paramount as was) repeat a lot of their programming during the day so they naturally have day time edits that beep the swearing; but they seem to be by far the worst channel for then reusing the daytime edit in the evening slot.

At the risk of admitting my liking of MOR Rock an interesting example of bleeping is the Nickleback song "Rockstar".  It has a line about everyone having "a drug dealer on speed dial" - of the dozen or so music channels on Sky about 75% bleep "drug dealer".  The "bleepers" are not always who you'd expect, I'm pretty sure Kerrang! are in the bleep camp where as it's been un-censored on more poppy channels.

I definitely don't watch TV in the US, mainly because of the ads

Britain is catching up though.  There was a time when the norm here was one break in the middle of a half-hour show and two breaks at roughly the 20- and 40-minute marks in an hour-long show.

Absolutely it's possible. It's likely, actually. I honestly don't think anywhere I've lived prior to London (and that includes Cornwall) has as bad a limescale problem as my current flat in Wimbledon does.

The water in Cornwall (and the southwest in general) is much softer than in London or anywhere in eastern England.   The self-contained water systems found in many U.S. towns can mean that there can be considerable localized variation in hardness.

Yet RHCP "Cabron" plays totally unedited, even in LA. I guess it's only offensive to swear in English?

Wawa is the best! I am from West Chester, PA area and there are about 50 wawa's in Chester County! I miss Iced Tea. Turkey Hill ice tea was my favorite.

Woohoo!  I'm originally from West Chester, too!   ;D

We'll likely be back in the US next year, and I go home 2x a year.  But I'm definitely surprised at the size of cars.  I'm surprised by the size of my own car!  It was mid-size when I bought it, and it seems to have grown since then (it lives at my dad's house while we're here).

We're in central London and don't have a car, and when I'm home, I'm always shocked at how much I can accomplish in under an hour.  Dry cleaner, post office, grocery store, Target...DONE!  I have no idea what I did with my time when I wasn't waiting for the bus or taking one load of errands home to free my hands up to go back out for another!

One thing that got me lately now that its colder... I miss Radox, all the variety of bubble bath in the shops. Some reason back here in the states there isnt much selection locally just at the target/CVS/Rite Aid...

I like the water fountains that are around so if you forget your water bottle  it's OK..
