OK, I just saw this thread for the first time and it gives me a chance to ask a burning question! Does anyone remember a book called Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I KNOW I used to read it all the time when I was little, but I have no clue where or when because my mom doesn't remember it at all. I told her one day that I was having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day and she had NO clue what I was talking about!

*I* remember Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  It was one of my favorites, the drawings of Alexander's facial expressions were so funny!

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh! That just put a huge smile on my face reading that synopsis on Amazon! I knew the book was still around, but it was really bugging me that my family didn't remember it at all!!! LOL, I forgot that he keeps threatening to move to Australia!!! OMG, I really want to buy it now!  ;D

Yep - I remember it!  I'm sure we still have it, as well, somewhere in the boys' old room at my mother's... ;D

I also loved the Frances  books.. especislly the one about the plastic teapot.and her friend  Thelma.. My sister and I had the record that went  with it and we would listen to it on the family stereo.  I also loved the Alexander books. (the terible horrible no good very bad day)  and  (...who used  to be rich last sunday) Curious George was  also a favorite character.. dr. Seuss'  Oh The places  You Will Go  is still a favorite gift to give to those who are going off to college or to a brand new place..   ;)

Highlights was the only reason I liked going to the dentist!

My youngest has a subscription.  It gets mailed to my mother's address and she sends it in her monthly care packages, along with Kids World and the Boy Scouting magazine.
