nope they're not........................................ but the mould on bread feeds on the yeast and the temperature in the bread bin is the optimum temp for pin.


ok I'm amazing myself here, seems I did take more in than I thought!!!! must have been implanted in my brain while doozing through class  :P

Oh my. I never knew people had such a laissez faire attitude to bread mold. My mother freaked out if there was the littlest piece of it and now I won't even consider eating bread that's had mold on it.

I have no problems eating moldy cheese and I'll cut off the mold and eat the rest (although I won't eat bleu cheese or something like it because I don't like the idea of eating straight mold like that) but for some reason, bread is a different matter for me.

In any case, we eat our bread so quickly that I (thankfully) never have to have this problem.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

I also bin the whole loaf if I see any mould at all.  There's gonna be spores lurking inside the bread bag if there's even a little mould on one piece of bread.  Ick, ick.

anyone with a citrus tree would scream a huge NO! to the moldy lemon comment.

I have used moldy tomatoes though  ;D

I remember reading once that bread begins to mould the second it's taken out of the oven. Ugh.

Yes, it does. If you think about it, makes sense. Warm, moist, contains yeast....perfect environment for mold growth!

So really what we're all talking about is whether we eat bread when it has "visible" mould on it. We're actually all consuming bread mould most of the time!

Next time you see mold on the bread put your nose in the bag and smell the loaf, I guarentee you it will smell like nail polish remover. I bin the lot.
