Same Shirt.......AGAIN!!!!
« on: February 11, 2005, 10:43:28 AM »
OK, I don't know if this goes here, but since this is happening at work, I thought I would put it here.

Thing is my colleague who sits across from me has been wearing the same blue shirt for the last month and a half at least 2 or 3 times a week!  Call me petty, but I've seen her wear loads of other shirts in the six months since I have been here!!!!  I am not the only person who has noticed, a lot of people in our department have actually commented to me.

I'm also thinking she might not be washing it everytime because I can actually smell slight b.o. from where I am sitting!  I'm not trying to be mean, honestly, I just don't know how to say anything without hurting her feelings!

Hey, at least the guy who sits right behind you hasn't REEKED of curry for the past month.

No exaggeration.  It's been a month.

It's put me off curry for a while... :-\\\\

Maybe she's got something going on at home?  You know, family trouble or someting...and she's just too distracted to focus on fashion?   :-\\\\

If you think there's a personal hygiene issue, you could go to your supervisor.  It's his/her job to handle the situation (and maybe talk to your coworker about any problems she might be having at home?).

I hate stuff like this -- touchy personal issues with people you don't know that well just make me nervous!   :-[

Maybe it's her favourite top.

I have enough clothes & shoes to wear a completely different outfit every day for about 2 or 3 months.  But I find myself wearing the same 2 or 3 tops a lot.  I'll have brand new things hanging in the closet with the tags still on them, and still pick out "old faithful" to wear.  ::)

 :-X  OK, that is worse!!!!

There is a lot to say about her, she lives at home with her parents, they are her best friends (I'm not being cheeky, they are!) as well as her two cats.  She is 28, never been away from home, was BORN on campus and is very insecure (Who isn't!)

Not much I can do with our line manager, she has a slight personal hygiene problem as well!!!  And I have a very sensitive nose, it's killing me here!!!!

Maybe she has 2 or 3 of the same top.
No :-[

It must be, I mean it is nice (She has the habit of dressing like her mom usually! Sorry, that is mean, but she dresses far older then her age)

I do the same thing, I wear a lot of the same things over and over, and trousers twice a week.  I have so much and I always say, today I will wear something else, I never do!  But never the same top more then once a week!  (I mean I did when I was younger and didn't go home the night before, but that is different!)

ask her to go on a girly shopping expedition with you at lunchtime. Take her to h&m and show her some nice, cheap clothes and take her to the body shop and show her the deodorant and body spray. stinky workmates you do not need.

K, that's yucky.

How about bringing some air freshner in to use at your desk?  Or one of those LUSH bath bombs make great air freshners.  Or a bowl of potpurri.

Vday is coming up - why not bring in small luxury soaps for the office, so she won't feel singled out.

I used to have a class with this guy who would wear the same striped see through shirt every week. One week he wasn't wearing it, but had it on his desk and put it on later.  I don't think I would have recognized him without the shirt.  My friends and I would make bets every week to see if he was wearing the shirt again and in fact, he was!   ::)  So, maybe have some fun with it.  People are going to do what they want to do.  Maybe in a few months she will wear a different shirt all the time or something.   ;)

It's one thing wearing the same thing all the time but she should wash it!!! Could you try having an accident with a pen near her so the ink gets on her shirt? Then she'd have to wash it!!
