As many of you probably know, I'm a car boot fanatic. And I'd really recommend checking out car boot sales for produce as well. Often farms will have stalls there. Just last week at a car boot sale in Carmarthen, I found an awesome organic farm selling amazing vegetables!  ;D

Has anyone used Able & Cole (www.abel-cole.co.uk)

We recieved a leaflet from them today and are really interested in their organic milk and box veg/fruit service.

I am so glad to hear of some food options. I will (in a couple of months) be shopping for local "beyond organic", and humanely raised and killed food. My needs go beyond those personal preferences to gluten free food and whole food. If anyone has sources for humane, organic wholesome food I'm all ears!

Bristol has a farmer's market every Wednesday, from 8-2 on Corn Street (by St Nicholas' Market). Great food, and not too expensive.

Also, Manor Farm at Backwell is a venison farm, and you can see the animals, and know how well the animals have been kept. They sell venison from the farm shop.

Today's Guardian (November 03, 2007) has a really good directory of organic, farm, and local shops.

I'm too lazy to go out and buy a paper, so I Googled. Is this it, Mindy?

I know I'm not Mindy, but yes, it is.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

A good one here for South Yorkshire, their sausages and meat pies in particular.

For those in North London, I noticed at the weekend that a Planet Organic is about to open in Muswell Hill, next to the cinema.

Oooh, my in-laws (where I'll be staying soon) live in Muswell hell. Very exciting. I'm spoiled on Whole Foods here in the States.

I just stumbled upon this entry.  Thanks for it!  I really love farmer's markets and the dedication to them over here.

I would like to know if anyone has seen heirloom tomatoes here.  I would gladly dash across a highway of traffic for an heirloom tomato.  The farmers market here in cambridge is poor, in comparison to at home at least, and I have seen no tomatoes.

Do any of you all have some tasty tomatoes?

I've grown them here before (a few years ago), but I can also get them at the local farm shop. Just look around - you should be able to find them somewhere.  :)
