Those tea drinkers in the US may like Stash Tea - they do a lovely range of organic loose teas.

Went up to Aiken to buy my PG Tips today - the shop was open, I got the tea, and was happily on my way.  Feeling rather pleased, I decided to stop in a kitchen specialty store I had seen on my first trip up.  What do I find in the corner but hundreds of boxes of PG Tips!  Could have bought it on my initial journey had I not been in such a foul mood!  Sigh.

I haven't seen Stash tea in ages - wonder if it's a West Coast thing?  I do remember it being yummy - they used to have it on the ferry boats going to Seattle but here in Georgia the word "tea" generally equates to "cold, slightly flavored beverage with pounds of sugar added"!

I learned about Stash Tea from a friend who knew that I love organic teas  - ever since I discovered that tea is one of the most heavily pesticide and herbicide-laden crops in the world, and that there were organic, Fair Trade alternatives, I'd been going crazy with the ethical options.  We ordered their organic Breakfast Blend loose tea, and... oh. my. goodness.  Hooked.  I also rather adore Zhena's Gypsy Teas, which they sell at our local Wild Oats.  I'm interested in how Rroma feel about her use of Rroma traditions and imagery for marketing (I know from reading The Patrin that American Rroma hate being called gypsies, whereas British Rroma call themselves Gypsies with a capital G), but that aside, the blends are lovely - my favourites are the Redbush Lavender and the Sense of Peace (white tea, Egyptian mint, and rose) blends.  They're mainly tisanes rather than teas, but as so many people refer to herbal blends as tea, who cares?  I can't drink the overly-sugared iced teas you buy in bottles, but I do love making teas or tisanes and letting them cool and adding ice-cubes, especially in the summer.  Peppermint with raspberries floating in it is my favourite :)

I adore both Stash and Zhena's! Def woth tracking down if you can. I am also a huge fan of Trader Joe's Green Tea with Jasmine and Tazo teas.

We don't have a Trader Joe's near us, though they're definitely spreading.  Green tea is a gift from the gods  ;D
