New Orleans. Just got back from a site visit for one of my conventions in 2007 and I was happy to see the city. I haven't been there since late Spring 2005. It's definitely not the same, but it's a lot different than what is portrayed in the media. Don't get me wrong, they kept us in a pretty controlled environment so I didn't have an opportunity to see the really damaged areas, but it was nice to visit. I feel a lot more confident that it will come back. It's going to take some time and i'm happy we are committed to bringing this convention there. I'll be bring at least 200 people from my company and overall the convention will draw 30K. That's a lot of people eating out, shopping, drinking and tipping!
