Do you have a website?  I would love to see this.  I keep hearing about Blackpool, but I really don't know what is there but I am dying to go now.

I hear it's pretty dangerous there now though, especially at night. (People fighting, etc.)

Well it's more that it's kind of degenerated into a dangerous drunk chav infested place at night, which sucks. I think it's still a fun place to go during the day though.  :) (I haven't been there, but I've heard things from people about it.)

I've been to Blackpool twice with the kids-really fun place to go.  I've never seen the illuminations though.   :)

Heres a web site.

If you pop into any local travel agent you can get a day trip up there,Bowens if you have one of their branches near you do a reasonable one, pick you up locally, drop you off for the day in Blackpool, then pick you up for a ride along the front before dropping you off at your local pickup point.Costs about £16.

We have taken the kids several times now to see the illuminations and they absolutely LOVE it and in fact we plan on going in a few weeks time. To be honest Ive never seen any fighting going on even at night when we are out with the kids. I think a lot of hen and stag parties go there to celebrate but all in all it's a great time out.  :)

I used to live in Lytham-St Annes, which is just next to Blackpool.  Blackpool is a fun place and the Illuminations are much loved by kids and grown-ups alike.
Like any place where large quantities if alcohol are consumed, there is a possibility of
fights breaking out, but in my opinion, no moreso in Blackpool than any other place.
If you go be sure to visit Blackpool Tower.  Have fun!

Just consider the source, whiteknight.

We've been trying to get up there for years - have friends who live up there and would love to visit them during the Illuminations.  But we always seem to be too skint.  :-\\\\

Don't forget that Blackpool is also famous for its trams (streetcars), so it's good for a visit if you're interested in historical transport as well.

You can even combine the illumination and the trams, as these vintage pictures show:

I have been to Blackpool a few times, it is fun.  At night I have seen some fighting, though drunkenness usually seems to the root cause.

Excuse me?

I'll answer you here.

People who HAVE been to the Blackpool illuminations - indeed, have taken their children to it - have posted how nice it is to go and that they recommend it.

You have NEVER been, yet of course have something nasty to say about it.

Simple as that.
