OMG you guys make me crave a cheeseburger so badly  >:( ;D

One of the nicest I have had in a long time, was the Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh, with caramelised (carmelized?;) onions, big and fat and juicy- yum!  It *will* be my first meal back in the US!

Good god, where are you eating that the food is "so bad here" ? I never have any trouble finding decent quality food here and I don't eat frozen crap at all??

I do think we have some "blander" choices here, but that can be nice when you have had your fill of fatty and/or rich foods.

I don't eat burgers very often, mostly because it has to be a GOOD burger before I'm interested!  My two fav burger joints here in the states....Fudruckers (a chain - first ate in one in Denver), and BunHuggers in Flagstaff AZ.  (They sell some great T-shirts there!  :))

I really don't have any huge complaints about the food quality in the UK...I find it's like everywhere else....some things I like, some things I don't.  Might take a while to discover them all, but it's part and parcel of moving to a new country!
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I have to agree with you NewDawn, the food here in the UK can be quality.

I must say the only bad food I ate when visiting England was the stuff I attempted to cook myself, and that says it all  :P Oh yeah, and fried bread was not for me... but some things just aren't my cup of tea  ;D

Had a bacon cheeseburger at a pub Sat night.  The bun was absolutely lovely, the bacon was cripsy the cheese melted nicely.  The meat - well the meat was too clearly a frozen preformed patty.  Still it was a very good burger overall.  Guess I'll have to stick to making them at home to have nice fresh ones.

I love pub food! Had some really great nachos at a few of them! Food here is just like anywhere, got gotta know where to go to get the quality. We have a fish and chips place here in Birmingham, never been in, but the place is always packed, sometimes with people waiting outside!

I love fish and chips, I am almost drooling here! I am pretty sure that doesn't fit into a low carb lifestyle though  :\\\'(
