No... but once you've been here and tasted the REAL cheeses, you wont go back to Velveeta!  ;)

I'm vegan, but I made a sauce that a good friend once told me was "really, really like Velveeta, only nicer" for pasta and broccoli:

1 large carrot
1 medium sized yellow onion
2 medium-large potatoes

Chop and boil in 1 & 1/2 cups water until tender.  Retain water.

1&1/2 cups firm tofu (chopped)
2/3 cup nutritional yeast (this may have another name in the UK, but I never used it before emigrating, so I'm not sure; scroll down to see what it looks like)
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic granules

Blend all ingredients until smooth.

It takes 20 minutes tops to put together (I use a food processor or immersion blender) and I keep being told by omnivores that it's really good.

Not really, but quite honestly, you won't miss it after a while.  The cheese here is just better!  It melts so nicely (the cheap cheddar is great for that) and tastes amazing!  But they do slices as well as bags of shredded and blocks of cheese.

You guys are lucky that you can buy Cheddar there, I've been here for 5 years and have never seen it nor have other Americans that I know.
I'm an American (with dual citizenship) living in Stockholm, Sweden for almost 6 years.

My Swede and I are looking towards a future move to the UK.

Where are you that you can't find Cheddar cheese?

It's so abundant it's not even funny. Heck I can even find "Cracker Barrell Cheddar" at my local Tesco!

I agree with the posts in regards to Velveeta - once you go *real cheese* you won't want Velveeta or American (Processed Cheese Food) Slices!

Yep - just up the road from here. (by USA standards anyway)

Took my mom there and she was disappointed that there weren't *Cheddar cheese stands* along the road. I said "Mom - we buy it at the supermarket, it's not like you have to fresh *pick* cheese"   ;)

Yeah but that would have meant she had to get out of the car!  ;)

My husband went to France and he had this vision of relaxing with a fresh french bread stick and some cheese...he went to the shops and immediately called me to tell me there was a better selection of cheese at TESCO then there was in the part of France he was in!!  So I asked him if I should ship him some....he just called me *cheeky*....humph! LOL

Judging from her flag, she appears to be in Sweden.
