When this was out in theatres, we went to see 10 Million BC instead of this because I thought this was a western and I didn't realise the Coen brothers directed it.  ::)

Shoot Out at the OK La Brea Tarpits Corral

No, I thought No Country for Old Men was a western.  I hate westerns.   ;)  We ended up watching a pretty crappy movie and avoided a pretty good one based on my wrong assumption.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Oh so very, very early 80s.
If we called them Sad Meals, no one would buy them.

Midnight Cowboy

Two observations:
- I can't believe I used to have a crush on Dustin Hoffman
- Seeing Jon Voight filmed in 1969 reminded me a lot of Brad Pitt in the present day - explains a lot about Angelina Jolie's attraction to him (as they say, many women choose men who are like their fathers, even if they are estranged or otherwise have a difficult relationship)

I hadn't seen it either, but then, I was probably a few months from being born when it came out. However, I take my 80s pop culture very seriously, so it was time to remedy this egregious oversight!
Phoebe Cates is gorgeous. I wonder why she hasn't been in more stuff.

Dh was born in the late 70's so thats his excuse & also he didn't watch alot of movies. mainly cause he was involved in banger racing then after he got hurt really bad several times he just watched the meetings on the side lines or helped his buddies build there cars for future races. now that I'm here he doesn't do the races anymore he said it lost its flare & its no longer fun like it used to be.

I caught the last hour of Flashdance on Sky Classic movies before Mannequin I have been watching alot of older movies lately.

"I Am Legend" starring Will Smith. Thought it was pretty good, reminded me a bit of 28 Days Later.
Recently joined up for a free 2 month trial membership of LoveFilm.

Had that and also "Death Sentence" (Kevin Bacon), it was ok but they should have finished it after a hour, the last 30 minutes just got more stupid!
We were also sent a Spanish horror movie "The Orphanage" started watching it on Saturday night but it kept freezing up, got us intrigued enough in that first 15 mins though to request another copy, and that's on it's way!
