The Annual Trip Back
« on: March 10, 2006, 03:15:59 PM »
Booked it (the flights)...still have to plot out the rest (hotels, car rentals, who to see, what to do...).  I'm already exhausted, but excited too. :)

4 days at brother's outside Atlanta, on to Wichita (KS) area to visit my mother 3-4 days, back to Atlanta where we will rent a car & drive down to Tampa -- en route a little fun side trip down the east coast to places neither of us has been (St Augustine, other places TBD)...9 days planned for drive to/from + time spent in Tampa Bay at storage unit, at the beach, and visiting friends...drive back to Atlanta & catch the plane back to England.

(We decided to give Baltimore a miss this time. :-\\\\)

I always wonder what on earth I was thinking by the time I get to the end of this trip. ::)

Sounds like you and your DH will be busy.  I used to live in Atlanta, lots to do and see.  Have a fun trip.  Are you flying Delta?

Yeah, I always go shopping mad in Atlanta -- it's the best place out of the three to shop.  Delta, of course...  My brother informed me (obviously amused) that our trip will be around an upcoming deadline in the banko filing and the rumours milling related to that...so he said our timing is 'all coming together perfectly' -- such a joker, that one...but it'll probably be alright in the end.

Have a fun trip! ;D

Thanks. :)

we are doing a trip back this year as well........

IOM to LGW and then into Houston (BA goes direct) spending time with my sister for Thanksgiving...then it is battling post Thanksgiving traffic and up to Grand Prairie to see one of my best friends..then on to Oklahoma to see my momma and sister.......then to Tulsa and OKC to see friends there and then back down to McAlester to visit more with my mom and family and friends and then back down to my friend in Grand Prairie to stay over night before we fly back from DFW to LGW and then home..........and all the while shop shop shopping for Christmas and soaking in the Christmas atmosphere........

but i am secretly scared i won't wanna come home........and when i do i will be so depressed....... :-[

I get back to the US, and I miss England.  I'm here, and I miss there.  But I'm gearing up for my annual/semi-annual clothes shop! ;D  I'd like to get back for Thanksgiving, but I don't imagine I will this year...plus my Mom's 80th is next January so I'm already looking forward & thinking of that.

Anyone else gearing up for their Annual Trip Back?  (or semi-annual, or whatever) :)

Annual??! Are you mad?!? I think I'll aim for once every five years, but even that might prove to be too much!   :P

Not annual... last time i was back was in 2003... but i am going to visit my parents in Amarillo for a week in October.
I will  go trick-or-treating with my niece & nephew, and no doubt do lots of shopping.  But i am also going on a mini-road trip (sorta) to meet an internet friend that i have been talking to online for 6 or 7 years.  She lives in Freedom, Oklahoma, and we are going to meet halfway... we think that will probably be a place called Canadian, TX.  (Does anyone know this place?  Is there anything there??  A restaurant or something?)   This will be the first time i have driven in the US  for over 10 years, and I AM SCARED!!  :o

I have two short trips home planned. Easter and Thanksgiving. I don't miss home, I miss my little sibs becoming little adults  :( and well, I can afford it and have the time sure why not! 2007 it will most likely be June graduation and Thanksgiving.

oh yes, and the semi-annual shopping trip is a bonus  ;)

:\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'(  I can't go till September.  But I usually visit 3 to 4 times a year.  Sometimes staying a long time (6 weeks in Sept/Oct.)  Actually I did go back this year, twice but it seems like forever ago.  I'm very close to my family, so it's a priority to visit often.  Lucky for me, parents will be coming at least once when the baby comes, as well as my sister at some point.
