I have the feeling it's going to be nearly impossible finding Puerto Rican food/ingredients anywhere in South Wales. If anyone knows where I can find them, please let me know :) It wouldn't be a craving, but a necessity! lol

Just so everyone knows!

I found Buttermilk in Asda!

We can now make proper Biscuits! *without the tedious process of squeezing butter!)

I don't think that there's much demand for it....but has anyone seen any Puerto Rican food shops around the UK?  I have been craving a few things, but I don't know how to cook them, my uncle wouldn't teach me the recipes.  :(

You read my mind!!!! lol <3.
To answer your question..  I haven't seen any Puerto Rican shops :( and I've been searching for a while now. I'm starting to believe they don't exist in the UK lol. Although, I have tried cooking PR food, minus using the Goya brands lol. Instead I'm cooking from scratch which has been ok but when I try to make 'Arroz con gandules' it just doesn't taste the same because I'm missing a few ingredients that I can't find in my area... like ingredients for my Sofrito to add into the arroz.

If you want to learn a few PR dishes to cook up... try http://www.youtube.com/user/LaGasseFlavors [nofollow]
Hope this helps and good luck :)

I think you are confusing it with La Bodeguita, the Colombian restaurant in the Elephant and Castle shopping centre.  El Azteca was a Mexican caterer and grocer in a small street behind the shopping centre, but it closed some time ago.  There are several small shops and kiosks in and around the shopping centre, selling Latino groceries, mostly from Colombia and Ecuador.

I found shredded Monterrey Jack at ASDA last week
Sainsbury's had Franks too (my friend works there and tracked it down at the new store here)

Will have to check my Asda to see if they have it. They do sell Ritz crackers which are only 20p more than the store brand.

Looked a recipe for pancakes, as the only mix i found is more for crepes, which I do love. But want real fluffy pancakes.

I looked in my Asda and they don't have it. All the Tescos near me are smaller ones. Have checked there too.
