I'm looking for an actual Mexican food store in the Midlands.  I know I can order online from Cool Chile.  But it'd be nice to go somewhere to pick up some real corn tortillas....

You may need to make them yourself.  Not many Mexicans in these parts!

Yeah that's what I feared.  We've gone to one Mexican restaurant in B'ham.  But it wasn't the total Mexican experience as it was VERY expensive.

Not sure how well I'd fair making my own...

It's beyond easy. I haven't perfected mine yet, but with a couple of items from Cool Chile, including a relatively cheap tortilla press, I'm pretty happy with the results.... And it's nice to be able to make them on demand rather than having to buy big bags of them and freeze them or something....

When I resided in the UK, I made corn tortillas like AnneR.  I bought all the items from Cool Chile.

Well you've both made me hopeful.  I'll make an attempt. :)

Here in Dundee I've seen it at the 24 hour Tesco and the specialty Asian store.

Lost Angel. . . .Good luck. My husband LOVES that stuff, and we can't find it anywhere. Of course, we're in Aberdeen, so that may explain it.   ;D

But, seriously, we'll be in London next month. If you find any, please let me know where. Otherwise, we'll have to bring a suitcase of it back from the States when we go home for Christmas.

Another note: Does anyone know where I can get REAL dill pickles? (Like Claussen.) I have purchased about ten jars of pickles since I moved here, and even if the package says "dill," they always seem to be sweet. Anyone who can help me with this has my undying gratitude.  :)

I went to two Asian shops in Dublin today (one Chinese and one Indian) and they both had creamed-style corn. It wasn't Del Monte brand, so I can't comment on what it tastes like, but I was surprised to see it there.

That's a little odd.... I did end up finding some!!! At Morrison's!!! We always go to Tesco because I can practically see if from my house, however when we went to Morrison's right before Turkey Day we found the creamed corn and all sorts of American beers.  Guess I have to stop being such a Tesco lover and branch out....

Found a Filipino food shop in Stockport called Adele's. Was a tiny bit gutted, because it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. But, oh well. At least we were able to get a bottle of banana ketchup! DH kept asking why it's red, and I finally said, "I don't know! I don't make it!" and we had a laugh. I shall have to google it. :)
