Nervous for my driving test tomorrow
« on: March 28, 2006, 08:52:21 PM »
I have my driving exam tomorrow morning. I'm pretty nervous! I've taken quite a few lessons and I know I should do fine but there's always that chance that something could go wrong. I can't help but stress out about it!

I bought some "Rescue Remedy" but I don't know how much it's really going to help. I'm willing to try anything though! LOL

Any advice on how to calm my nerves? I know they're going to be bad once I get into the car with the examiner!

I would get there early and relax ...go to bed early have a nice breakie (fresh fruits , juice) have a nice pep talk with your partner before setting off.

GOOD LUCK!!
But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I think the best way you give yourself a good shot to pass is be confident....show the examiner you know how to drive, you have been driving a long time, you know how to keep safe, etc.....  Besides, if the worst happens, you can always try again....but I am sure all of your experience will help you to show the examiner you are well able to drive in the UK.  Be confident! ;)

Well, I failed.

It would feel better if I failed because I accidentally hit a curb or did something like that.

But, no. I got 10 minor faults and that's it. I failed because 6 of them were under "clearance." He said I drive too close to parked cars. What was worse is this is the first time I've ever heard this. All this time with my instructor she's never mentioned I was too close. I really don't think I was driving any closer than I usually do.

The examiner said I'm a really good driver and that he hated to fail me for it but he did. So, that didn't make me feel any better.

Bleh.

My instructor says I don't need anymore lessons and she's booking me another exam for 10 working days from now. I'll probably go on one more lesson with her before my test date.  :(

They are only allowed to pass so many ppl. Try and get a morning appointment so you're not stuck w/ the end of their quota and they fail you for something stupid. Hopefully you'll get a different examiner next time. I think I passed b/c i had a better examiner, NOT from my area, she had just moved there :) By the way, took me 3 times.
