Whos your favorite celebrity chef?

Used to watch the Frugal Gourmet (I know, so I stopped watching . . .)

Ditto.

I used to enjoy watching Good Eats (with Alton Brown) back in the states.

I loooooooove Alton Brown.

I also like to watch the Two Fat Ladies, cos they are so amusing. 

I especially love it when they used to snipe at each other while cooking.

Also, although he never cooks anything himself, I do like Anthony Bourdain, can't say I've followed any "recipes" from any of his programmes but they're interesting all the same.

I also like Anthony Bourdain.  He's just got that cool thing going for him.  His books are great - Kitchen Confidential is entertaining and eye-opening.


And, of course, I cannot forget the Queen.... Julia Child.

I was an Emerial fan before coming here. More for the entertainment than the cooking though!! BAM!

I like Rick Stein -- especially when his programmes are travel-y as well as foody! I like Jamie Oliver's cookbooks and recipes (I also have the Italian one!), but I don't enjoy watching him. He annoys me for some reason.

My fave of all time, however, is the one and only Julia Child.

I can't use many of their recipes anymore as they are so full of meat and dairy, but I used to really like Gary Rhodes's cooking. He approaches everything like a detailed science project and his recipes are no-fail.

I like Jamie and Nigella here.  I love Rachael Ray (Even though I find her annoying) in the states.

For actual recipes, I love Nigella.  I LOVE watching cooking shows -- grew up with Julia Child, The Frugal Gourmet, and Floyd (on Fish!).  I'll usually stop what I'm doing to watch Nigella and Delia (even though she's a bit boring) and I love Gordon Ramsay, but more for Kitchen Nightmares than for his cooking.  Definitely also a fan of Alton Brown!

Cannot STAND Gary Rhodes -- he's too precise with everything...far too anal.  And he never stops saying "literally" and "actually".  ("You're going to literally take the chicken and actually put it on the plate --literally beside the actual runner beans."  )

I never watched many cooking shows in the US, outside of Justin Wilson.  I like most UK chefs except Gordon Ramsey and Rick Stein.  I really enjoy Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage series, but that more about his quirkiness than about the food he serves.  I also like Tamasin Day Lewis.

For attitute, it's all about Gordon

I'm also a big Nigella fan. I refer to her books constantly. I like to watch Tamasin Day Lewis, but for some reason it seems like she rarely cooks anything that I would make. I like Gordon for the sex appeal factor but I'd probably never actually follow a recipe from him. LOVE Rick Stein - I wish he was my dad.

As for the American ones I like that little Italian girl - what's her name, Giada something or other?

And the best news ever? The food channel here is now showing the Barefoot Contessa. At 6am while I'm on the stepping machine! Yippeee!

I forgot them!  I love them too!  TBC lives in East Hampton, I love, love, love her house.

Alton Brown was my favourite in the US.  I love that he brings science into cooking.  I've learned a lot from him.  

Jamie Oliver for good basic cooking

Rachel Ray.  I use a lot of her recipes.

Ah, but in her later shows she has a much larger kitchen, complete with a big ole' Aga.

The only show I watch is Saturday Kitchen but they do include those little tidbits from other people's shows.

I love Gary Rhode's recipes because they're always full of fat and sugar and god bless the man for making fabulous food.

I really enjoy watching those tidbits from Keith Floyd. He makes me laugh with his constant drinking during the shows.

I like watching  Rick Stein because he's got such a passion for what he talks about that he makes me want to be as passionate about it as well. Sadly, it's all fish which I'm not passionate about but it's still fun to watch. Plus, he's just a likeable guy. You just want to be his friend.
