I have 18 days before I become Mrs Roy!  We went to the registrar yesterday and got "interviewed" ha ha it was nothing no sweat at all.  Then  we spent the rest of the day in Bury St Edmunds it was so great, then I introduced my future hubby to TACO'S he loved them, and couldn't wait to have them again.

Carrie I can't believe how close you are...hang in there, the pets will be fine.

Candice good luck as well

Shugga  Becareful of the small children at Wal-mart they don't realize that you have had to limp along on Asda and Tesco until you got your next Wal-mart fix.....he he

Carrie - Don't PANIC!  Everthing will be fine. Can't believe how fast all this time went.

WhoooHoooo!!!!  I got the paperwork back from the USDA this morning.  All shiny and stamped.  I am ready to get on that plane (after we finish out our 6 month period and get the tick and tapeworm treatment done, of course).  The hard parts are over.  And it feels so great.  I also finished my last experiments yesterday at work, and just need to clean out my lab space and finish my edits in my thesis.  Yippeee!

I hope OnMyWay had a good flight.

Mekaw - I hope you are counting down for real this time.

shugga - Have fun in the US.

Kristen - Have fun finishing your wedding planning.

It's not long at all!   ;D  Especially compared to how long we've waited so far!  But now that it's so close, time appears to be moving slower.   ::)  Crossing my fingers for you that the potential October date sticks!

Carrie -- yay for having all of the vet stuff sorted out!  Not long now!

zeusy -- salad creme?!  Really?  Blech! :P  hehe.  Yay for getting the registrar stuff sorted out.  By the time you get married, I will have just a month left!!  Woooohoooo!  ;D

shugga -- I hope you have a good flight...I think you're next!  I also hope OnMyWay had a good trip over and is settling in okay.  :)

4 days....until I see him!   ;D  September 18th!  He sent me his flight confirmation this morning. ;D :D ;D  See how things change so frequently, I only found out this was a possibility on Tuesday.  He's coming in for the night and flying out the next night.  Hopefully back to me next Friday.
I'm trying to not get too excited yet...not until he calls me from the plane and I know he's on it!

zeusy  I have to agree with Candice on the salad creme front yuck.  [smiley=bleck.gif]  I sent your wedding present off yesterday so you shud be getting it any day now. I also put that cd you wanted in with your present as well.

Candice you dont have long to go now before you know it your trip will just be around the corner.

Well, I made it! We are finally here. We flew out of Boston the evening of the 12th and arrived the morning of the 13th at Heathrow. I hated the size of Virgin's seats! I am a "big" girl, and I JUST fit in the seat and had to literaly SQEEZE into the seat belt. One of the reasons it was even worse is because we were put in bulk head with the children, which I usually love, but the seatbelts have this "airbag" thing on them which takes away like 3 inches of your seat belt, and then I asked for an extention, but because of that "airbag" thing, they don't work with those particular seatbelts. It was really crazy. I am not knocking Virgin as a whole though because their service was actually very nice, the flight attendents were very nice and helpful, the left on time, etc..
Anyway, enough on the small seats. My children are still working on the time adjustment. They are doing ok, but my 2 1/2 year old was up until 11pm last night even though we put him down at 7:30!
As far as the trip itself went, I can say that I love having small children. Yes, they are sometimes a pain to handle while on the trip, but they save you a lot of time and hassle. Because we have them, we get bulk head, and also when going through security, you get to hop right to the front of the line and they don't really give you much hassle with bags (though I was very careful with what I put in carryons). Also, you get to pre-board, which is great because you aren't trying to squeeze by everyone with your 3 bags and 2 children! Then when we got to Heathrow passport control, they have a fast track line which they let us get in, and that line was even long, but when my children started fussing, a customs lady came over and told us that we could come right to the front of that line also! They didn't even ask us any questions when they were checking our passports and my visa. Anyway.... I guess that is about it. I have now officially driven here also... I only hit the curb 2 times because of the narrow lanes and my husband was talking to me! I am having a lot of fun going out and buying new things like the computer I am using now. Well, I hope everyone else is having safe travels as I know a few were traveling this week!

Today is my last day of work.  It feels funny because I'm not leaving for anything (careerwise).  I mean, I am leaving to move to England, but I've known about that for so long.  Normally you find something to move on to and you give your office 2 weeks notice, or 1 months notice.  And it's exciting because you are going to do something new in your career.  I am going to do something new in my career soon, but I have no idea what that is, and right now I'm just getting ready to search for work.

Anyway, I have 4 wakeups left until I leave.  It is going to fly by.  But I have everything done already.

Candice - Time does seem to go slowly, but one day you'll wake up and wonder how you got so close to you travel date, yet still feel so unprepared.

Mekaw - That is fantastic news!!!!!   ;D ;D  Have a great time with you boyfriend.

Shugga - Good luck on your trip.  You leave so soon.

mrskreme - Maybe I'll have to get me a fake baby for this trip.   ;)  It was really nice that people were so accomodating to you.  Congrats on driving already - was it scary?  That is one of my biggest fears when I move.

Kristen - What is going on with the salad creme?  I missed that.  2 weeks until your rehearsal dinner!

debinator - That holiday sounds awesome.  Have a great time, take lots of photos and let us know how the trip went when you get back.

Carrie- I may have mentioned that I love the salad creme in this country...I needed something to substitute for my love of Ranch and that is the only thing that I have found in the cupboards here, (well now I have 3 bottles of ranch that Roy found at Makro's)

Candice- It will be time for you before you even know it.

Debinator-Do you have room for me??  Sounds like fun and if you see a sting ray SWIM AWAY!!!  (tee hee sorry I guess Steve Irwin humor isn't appropriate)

Zeusy- Yes, BA does have much better seating. We usually always fly with them as they do a direct flight from BWI (Baltimore) to Heathrow every day and visa versa, so it was always very easy for us as when we were in Baltimore, we lived only 10 minutes from the airport. My brother-in-law also works for BA, so I know they are a wonderful company. We just flew Virgin because we were able to get the one way tickets for half the price, so when you look at it that way, I am not going to complain too much.
I also LOVE the salad cream here! I was just saying it at dinner yesterday. I too love ranch dressing, and will miss it, but the salad cream is a good substitute! One idea though is when you visit the US, or people come to visit you from the US, get them to bring the Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mixes (you know, the packet of powdery stuff that you mix with something to make dressing or dip). It is nice and small, easy to import.

Carrie- Yes, and no on the being scary to drive. I was the most nervous today when I did the Six Crossroads roundabout while heading out shopping. I did have my husband with me talking me through it, and luckily it is only a 2 lane round about, but it is still quite a lot with 6 roads feeding into it! I did ok. My husband says that he is quite impressed at how well I am doing. I mean, I have been driving for 10 years, so the driving is not the problem... It is remembering to stay on the left (especially when turning) and remembering all of the markings. I love not HAVING to stop at intersections if the way is clear. It is fabulous! saves those brakes! Oh, and Watch out for those speed cameras!

Oh, and one thing that I love finally is that some of the stores are begining to carry plus size clothing. I went in Bon marche today and they carry up to UK size 24, and also Tesco (some of them at least) also carry a new plus size line. I forget what it is called now, but I thought when I first moved that the only place I would be able to find clothing would be Evans, but things have changed a bit. I am settling right in!

Oh, and for those of you that like the good cup of British tea in the morning to wake up to, check out getting a Teasmade, or the brand that I got is called Tea:am. It is kinda like a coffee maker, and it came with 2 stainless steel cups, and you just put the water and tea bags in the thing every night (like a coffe machine), and then you can set the alarm clock, and it will set off the alarm clock and start making the tea. It even has a radio option if you don't like the buzzer. I love this country!

I'm unemployed.   :(  Hopefully not for long.  My last day of work was good.  I was kind of surprised that so many people were so upset about me leaving.

Tonight I had my goodbye dinner with my best friend and her husband and baby.   :\\\'(  Our dorm rooms were next to each other for the first two years of college, she was the maid of honor in my wedding, I was in her wedding, and then we lived next to each other in a duplex for the past year and a half.  I was around the whole time she was pregnant (she was the first of us) and I was the first non-family member to visit her in the hospital.   I got to see the baby everyday after she was born.  And now I'm moving thousands of miles away.   :\\\'(

Gavin bought two dressers and a rug from IKEA today.  And some stuff for the pets - litter, litter tray, food.  Our new vacuum cleaner arrived yesterday.  And I think that our M-bags are there - Royal Mail left a notice that said something about packages they tried to deliver would not fit through our mail slot.  I'm really hoping that Gavin can call them and ask them to redeliver after Thursday.  The last thing we need is to figure out how to get 500lbs of books from the central post office to our apartment.

Three more wakeups left and I'm outta here.
