1. So a weird tax quirk meant that I got paid loads more than I thought I was going to from my old job, like LOADS more, about 5 times what I'd budgeted for.

2. I also got paid more than I thought from my new job. WTF?! This never happens to me.
3. One of the start ups we worked for have had a major round of VC funding and their share price jumped exponentially. Which is good as the strike price we have for those shares is
in the pence . We can't do anything about it obviously until they sell or IPO, but it's fantastic to see that us working risky jobs in the start up community rather than cushy jobs in big businesses is starting to pay off (or at least pay off on paper). Fingers crossed that playing the start up long game will result in something pretty positive for us in the future.
4. 1+2+3= much more expensive holiday than were previously considering. Looking at Thailand, or Borneo at the moment. Woo!
