Saturday Morning Cooking shows
« on: December 09, 2006, 01:01:50 PM »
I thought there was another thread, but I can't find it...

What show came on after Saturday Kitchen?  An Alison somebody was making all breakfast stuff:  muesli, fruit compote with lime juice, banana peanut butter muffins...

basically my idea of heaven (I love anything breakfast-y type food).

Any idea who she is and how/where I can find those recipes?

Wasn't it Rachel Allen?

I don't see the recipes you want on the BBC site, but perhaps if you tried the forum someone would help you?

Couldn't find the muesli or fruit compote recipes, though.  You might have to put her cookbook on your Christmas list!

That woman really bugs me, but her soda bread scones looked fantastic, and dead easy.

Is baking soda the same as baking powder?

ahh i can't stand her show-she makes good food but:

i don't like her voice
she looks posessed sometimes
and the way they film it makes me motion sick somedays

(although recently it has been watchable....so maybe they have changed that a bit)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of her, but her food always seems pretty appealing!

Have to say I really don't like the James Martin led show now. I used to live for Saturday mornings but even when I do put it on now, I end up missing most of it because I get easily distracted by other things going on in the house. That never happened when AWT was the host!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

rachel allen bugs me too....she has a kitchen the size of the average british house, every gagdet known to man and about 4 ovens!!! i could make it look easy too!!! let her come cook in my miniscule kitchen with my tiny oven......HA!
she put me over the egde when i heard her say to "use a bay leaf off the bay tree you keep on your windowsill" oh, yeah we all keep keep a bay tree on the bloody windowsill!!!
well, truth is, i was determined to get one and i did, but i keep it in my greenhouse!!!
