Was something wrong with Barry Gibb's face or upper lip? Is it Botox? It was the strangest thing, it was like his face wasn't moving, and he was sort of pushing his words against his immobile upper lip - or is he always like that?
I think the BeegGees is not the best choice of music for solo singing contests - it's such specialized music. So it wasn't a surprise that they all did the way they did this week - it wasn't exactly material they could really work with.
Blake does good forgettable pop music. He's like a Haircut 100/Howard Jones/Thompson Twins sort of pop music for this generation, that sort of weird bland voice over a catchy melody. Even with the beatboxing he really reminds me of 80s pop.
Jordan just may win this over Melinda. She did good with Woman in Love but oh, if she had just sung it a little more angry/agressively, rather than whining, how much more amazing it would have been!
I also thought Lakisha's Staying Alive was good, but it was the song of death - you always know whoever has picked the song that is about surviving and carrying on despite setbacks ("Smile, when the tears are falling", or "Going down in a Blaze of Glory" anyone?), that is not a good omen.
I still heart Lakisha though, can't wait to see what she does next.
