My Friday Five this week:

1. Finally managed to get into Stanley (the only town here) for a nice restaurant dinner on Wednesday night :). Took weeks of planning and 2 cancellations (due to strong winds closing the road between the base and Stanley) but we eventually made it

2. Unfortunately, I must have eaten something bad at the dinner (I think it was the pate) because I was off sick from work yesterday :(... plus I’ve had a cold/sore throat/cough most of the week

3. While most of you are enjoying a lovely summery Easter in the U.K., I’m having fun with snow showers and highs of 6 degrees this weekend!

4. Only 2.5 weeks left until I fly back home though... then it’s a trip to Italy a week later and a holiday to the US in June :)

5. I’m slowly but surely getting there with my Falklands Challenge exercising. I have 125 km left to cycle and 18 km left to swim before I leave on May 7th (I’m a bit behind though due to being ill this week).

Thanks - I didn’t get around to posting last week because I was unexpectedly really busy, and then I got sick at the end of the week.

Yeah, my family are all making me very jealous with photos of outdoor lunches, barbecues, cherry blossoms, blue sky, and dogs playing on beaches :(.

I kind of forgot it's Friday!

Sound's like everyone is having mostly good days (those of you who aren't I feel you).

1. Went to bed early last night and woke up at 4.30am... I think our boiler is on the way out. It's noisy and apparently not working.

2. Weather is stunning. I took the dogs out s I was up at 7 am and had groceries delivered at 9.30.

3. I attempted a 'perky little hat' but my yarn isn't bulky enough so had to scrap it. Will start a new one tomorrow that I know will work.

4. Spent time out in the back garden with my Lily dog, she just loves soaking up the sun.

5. I got my hair fixed!!! I feel so much better now! And I got to have a chat with an American friend I hadn't had a chance to meet until now. She is my go to stylist now too.

Ksand, you'd like my shirt as it's Supernatural! That's Cas you can see and Sam and Dean's profiles are on either side under his wings.

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

1) It looks like I'm going to be offered the job I interviewed for, which is turning out to be unsuitable. I want to help the Daughter with early settlement, but I don't want to have to pay £400 per month and a goodly amount of my waking hours working to do so. I am about to withdraw from this and hope something better comes, with the understanding that this could well have been my best shot and that nothing better may come along. In which case the Daughter is just going to have to tough it out.

Nan, it seems to me (outsider's POV) that you have gone above and beyond, and done much, much more than any child has reason to expect from a parent. She's an adult,  and surely she can't expect you to continue making endless sacrifices just to make her life easier. Time to look after yourself and enjoy your retirement!  :)

Yeah, I'm tired. It's time.  8) Unless a job comes along that I really want to do, I think I'm going to remain retired.

We stumbled upon a farmer who had a sign up suggesting a "visit with the lambs" for £5.  You could actually hold the baby lambs on your lap and they were perfectly docile.  Really nice.

I raised 2 lambs as bottle babies. They were 2 days old when I bought them. The sheep farm only let the ewes keep one baby and the farmer sold off the rest to 4H members.

They were the sweetest little guys. Sheep will always be my favourite farm animal.

LOVE!! Every day on my way to and from work I pass by big pastures of sheep, and this time of year the lambs just kill me! The lambs out just now are a couple of weeks old and are at that leaping-in-the-air- for -no -reason -other- than -because- you- can phase. So cute!!  There are calves as well, who are even more adorable!

We go lambing every year.  One of the things I love about the UK.  There are several here who need bottle feeding.  I’m loving it.  I’m getting baby lamb cuddles many times a day!  :D

TAPS AFF!!!!

https://www.taps-aff.co.uk/
Its Sunday now, we headed for ASDA but ended up at the botanical gardens. Taps Aff for sure.

Stuart thought the queue for the churro place was too long so I settled for a donut and coffee drink from the Co-OP instead.
