1. I finally broke down and turned the heat on
2. I'm going to London tomorrow to talk to the 19 year old who I've barely seen lately.
3.  I am battling with a massive case of homesickness this week.
4.  Work is insanely busy but a laugh.
5.  My American friend at work and I had a long conversation about jelly donuts today and both said 'jelly' about a million times and made everyone laugh and ask how long we'd lived here.

I always say jelly, then I'm reminded what jelly is in the UK and that they call that 'jam'. I say 'yeah, I know. I call it jelly' and I just carry on. They've converted me to 'jumper' can't they let me keep 'jelly'!!??

I actually can't bring myself to call US jelly "jam" because I learned that:

Quote
Jelly  is a clear, bright product. It is generally made by cooking fruit juice and sugar with pectin as a jelling agent and lemon juice as an acid to maintain a consistent texture. Jelly is firm and will hold its shape (it “shakes”). Generally, jelly contains no pieces of fruit, although specialty jellies, like pepper jelly, may include pieces of jalapeño or other pepper.

Jam is made from crushed or chopped fruit cooked with sugar, and often pectin and lemon juice. Jam can be a purée of fruit or have a soft pulp, but it does not contain chunks of fruit.

Now you have a bonafide foodie reason for calling it what you do!  ;)

1.  My farewell tour of the UK kicks off tonight, with leaving drinks and then Black Cotton Club!  I better sleep on the train to London in anticipation.

2.  I'm so sad to leave lovely Cornwall and the even lovelier chary today.  But I'm so lucky to have been able to squeeze this mini break in!

3.  I'm looking forward to seeing lots of my mates tonight...the worlds of work, swing dancing, and UKY collide!

4.  Lots of dancing this weekend (tonight and tomorrow) and I'm really excited.

5.  My mate and I are taking his boat out after all...I am intrigued as I've never done it before and looking forward to great 365 shots!

1.  I have an interview with an agency at 12!

2.  Going to a co-workers house for dinner and drinks... my first excursion away from DH since moving to UK, and happy to do something on my own, just me and some ladies!  Meanwhile DH stays home with little man...  :P

3.  Gonna make some real guacamole for my coworker's dinner party and I hope everyone likes it!

4.  I get to have a lie-in tomorrow because I got up with the little man this morning and let DH have a sleep.   8)

5.  We have some potential buyers coming to check out our sinking business today... hope they buy the company and keep us all employed!

5) Hooray for the weekend!  :D

I call US jelly, jelly... US jam, jam... and US jell-o, jell-o!

1. Feeling really overwhelmed and lost these days.
2. I wish my mother were here and not my MIL.
3. I don't like how short the days are already!
4. Ditto Bmore's #4!
5. I just realized it's my wedding anniversary in less than 2 weeks!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Hey, you could always do what I did a few weeks ago... cut your own fringe with blunt kitchen scissors after 2/3 bottle of wine! Or.... maybe not.
Ok, so I'm smug.

Yay Friday!

1 - BFF Olive arrived last night and we are going to have a chilled but fun weekend.

2 - We are off to dinner tonight at the Royal Malt Whisky Society and then to the cinema to see the gorgeous George Clooney in the new Coen Brothers film.

3 - She wants to go to Glasgow so I can visit my fave vintage shops! YAY!

4 - Glasgow means I might have a wee chance of finding some Indian clothes for my two upcoming events.

5 - On holiday ALL WEEK next week!   ;D
