And we are talking about a Zoom call.  If you’d like to join, let us know your schedule next week (any evenings free UK time?).  Happy to work around your schedule, particularly if it’ll help you get out of the Ascension bubble!

Thanks :). I was actually just downloading Zoom as I read this (as my brother messaged to ask if I had it). My only concern is how much data it will use, as my monthly WiFi allowance only gives me an average of 700 MB per day and apparently a 1-hour group Zoom video call uses 810 MB.

I'm on GMT time here, so only 1 hour behind the UK at the moment. I'll have to double-check the roster because it keeps changing, but I believe I am free tomorrow evening, Monday evening and Wednesday evening next week.

I’m a dental nurse so we aren’t able to work from home. We’ve only operated a phone triage system so each dentist only “works” one day a week. We’re small so it’s easy to miss them  :D

Wow. I'm still catching work colleagues every single work day on conference calls** so I well caught up with them, haha. I want a break from them!

**Though this is nothing new as I spent my life pre Covid-19 on calls with suppliers all around the world.

Happy Birthday PhatBeetle.  I will raise a glass for you tonight!

1.  I had a really good week this week.  I don’t know if it’s the change in weather or what, but just been more myself mentally this week.

2.  I got my taxes done this week.  $2,800 refund for the kids.  And $2,200 for the stimulus check.  Don’t mind if I do!

3.  We submitted planning permission for our extension this week.  Would have done it a long time ago but no rush at the moment.  We won’t instruct a builder until I have a job again.  We are soooo excited about it though.  We have the money set aside for the extension.  So who knows.  We may do it even if it does take time for me to get a job if we feel comfortable with basically wiping out our savings.   ;)

4.  I’ve been going for a walk each day with my daughter (sometimes my son). I am soooooo out of shape.  It’s really good though.

5.  Looking forward to Sunday’s update from Boris.  Hoping it helps spring the economy a bit and give some job prospects.

Happy birthday, PB!  Sorry about the weather up there... but a nice long weekend, nonetheless!  I love BBQ!  Enjoy!

Congrats on submitting your planning permission application!  I hope that goes smoothly and you're able to get started reasonably soon.  You'll be helping the economy!

My five:

1.  MY HUSBAND FINALLY REQUESTED MY AMP!  He's no longer unplugged, so we can play together again!  I moved my stool into the hallway so there is only the sheet of plastic between us and I'm not sat directly in front of his 100-watt Fender vs him on my 30-watt Roland two rooms away.  I managed to find a pretty good balance so I could hear both of us really well.  It is so fun playing together again.  :)

2.  This week, I've done a lot of work cleaning up the garden, finally.  After living here for three years and pretty much pretending I don't see the disaster, I finally made a concerted effort to tidy it up, and I smoothed the gravel path (mostly because I now have to walk that path a lot -- often in the dark! -- to bring plates of food to my husband... I pass things to him under the gate at the side of the house).  It looks so nice out there when I look out the window, now.

3.  I ordered an inexpensive greenhouse thing from Aldi and it arrived yesterday.  My husband put it together and I'm giving it a couple of days for the UV to kill any virus that might be on it, and then I can start using it.  It has six shelves!  And I think I can reach all of them.

4.  We have eaten all of the custard tart I made.  I don't often mourn food, but I really miss that tart.  I am definitely going to make another one.  Everything about that one was perfect, and I want that nomming experience again.

5.  The espresso machine is in my part of the house, so I have had to take over the coffee-making.  I enlisted Domo's help, of course.  And I've been documenting his efforts with photography.  He's really quite good at it...  https://imgur.com/a/ZegtROH

Friday!

1.) Oh man ,this week has felt long...................  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

2.) No Zoom quizzes this weekend.  A wee bit of a break. Been really fun though, even though we suck balls at them!  [smiley=behead.gif]

3.) Defrosting some pumpkin I stored from last season's pumpkins.  Going to make something savoury, just not entirely sure what yet [smiley=chef.gif]

4.) Hopefully weather better this weekend. It's been cold with snow and sleet showers and pretty gross for most of this week.  [smiley=end.gif]

5.) Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaachooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooo........... Hay fever has been brutal this week.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

1.  My CV is going in front of a PERFECT job on Monday.  I’m the “wild card” because I don’t have farming experience.  Reached out to a colleague who will be a reference.  She knows 3 farmers and contacted them.  Two came back straight away and are speaking with me this weekend.  Any good wishes or prayers or anything would be appreciated.  This is my first bite.  I suspect I’ll be out of work for 12 to 18 months at a minimum.  But I need work for my mental health!

2.  We’ve been doing 2 only quizzes a week.  Through Quizzy Masters.  They are free and on Wednesday and Sunday.  The first two we did well.  The second two have been shocking.  We suck!   ;)

3.  Yesterday, only yesterday, my husband said each day feels the same.  Has he ONLY just had this revelation?

4.  My daughter is in Year 1 so will potentially be returning school in June.  Had a governors meeting yesterday and it was really interesting to hear the school’s side.  Figuring out how to open up is tough.  I’m not in a rush for my son to return to nursery, simply due to cost.  But we will see how that shakes out in the coming weeks.

5.  Engaging with builders about our extension.  Likely won’t start for a year, depends on so many factors.  But good to get the ball rolling.

Phatbeetle, how about mixing that pumpkin in with pancake or waffle batter?  I've done that and it's super nice.

KFdancer, good luck with the interview!  You should check out giff gaff, they have finance people there and it can be a pretty good gig.

Hoping to GET an interview.  That in itself would be a massive achievement!
